AVG Anti Virus Network edition provides centrally controlled security protection against viruses, worms, trojans, adware and hidden rootkit files.

The AVG resident shield permanently protects operating system and user files, automatically scanning every file that is opened, saved or executed. It also prevents the opening or execution of infected files with a 100% "in the wild" detection rate. The AVG software provides a very powerful and efficient anti virus engine.

AVG Anti Virus Network Edition includes Web Shield and Linkscanner, a technology that actively blocks malicious content from Web sites that may have been hijacked or otherwise compromised.

The Linkscanner module blocks drive by downloads and reports bad search engine links before they are clicked. This is an effective approach as much malware delivery is targeted at users through manipulated search engine results and social engineering techniques.
